What is Holistic Medicine? Holistic medicine is the art and science of healing that addresses care of the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. The practice of holistic medicine integrates conventional and complementary therapies to promote optimal health, and prevent and treat disease by addressing contributing factors. Holistic healthcare practitioners strive to meet the client with grace, kindness, acceptance, and spirit without condition, as love is life’s most powerful healer. In practice, this means that each person is seen as a unique individual, rather than an example of a particular disease. Disease is understood to be the result of physical, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental imbalance. Healing, therefore, takes place naturally when these aspects of life are brought into proper balance. The role of the practitioner is as guide, mentor and role model; the client must do the work - changing lifestyle, beliefs and old habits in order to facilitate healing. All appropriate methods may be used, from herbal remedies, mineral, supplements, and sometimes medications.

It offered 100 rooms, a coffee shop, large dining room, and two banquet rooms (the blue room and the rose room) It also featured newspapers, a flower shop, drug store, a clothing store and other spaces that made a wonderful place for travelers near and far the comforts of home. Many notable guests such as US President Herbert Hoover, Lydon B Johnson and Lady Bird, Governor Ronald Reagan, Ambassador W. Averell Harriman, Admiral Hyman Rickover, Actors Bing Crosby, Gary Cooper, and Roy Rogers as well as Fred Waring and his Orchestra and Chorus. Among the many others to stay in the Rogers Hotel were the Harlem Globetrotters. Today it houses many offices to the locals here in town and as history continues for the infamous Rogers Building, we at Rose of Sharon Holistic Health Services is proud to be a small part of it's HISTORY.
